Saddle up for a musical journey through time with Mario Yñiguez and his Cowboy Beethoven little big band, bridging classical finesse with cowboy cool. This one-of-a-kind revue traverses through the ages, featuring a fresh take on vintage gems. From torch songs to the timeless harmonies of The Pied Pipers and The Ink Spots, prepare for an evening filled with nostalgia in this refreshingly unique show featuring some of Phoenix finest musicians. 

Mario Yñiguez 

Mario Yñiguez (he/him) is a versatile songwriter, performer, multi-instrumentalist, and director/creator from Chandler, Arizona. He performs in many musical idioms around the world, singing, writing, playing, conducting, and producing.  

Since 2016, Yñiguez has served as a guitarist and conductor, music directing and composing for several productions in Arizona. His credits include Lin Manuel Miranda’s In The Heights, Liz Sawdos’ Runaways, Orange Theater’s Ida, and his and Vaibu Mohan’s original work Adi Antham.  As a musical theater and classical vocalist, Yñiguez has achieved first place multiple times in both the National Association of Teachers of Singing’s Music Theater Auditions and the National Society of Arts and Letters competitions. His stage performances in Arizona include roles in Twelfth Night, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Secret Garden, and Closer Than Ever 

In addition to his theatrical work, Yñiguez has conducted the award-winning mixed barbershop chorus, Sounds of the Mouth Vocal Collective, which he founded in 2015. He also sings baritone in his barbershop quartet, Eclectones.  

Mario graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor of music degree in vocal performance and a master of music degree in music direction and conducting, studying under Brian DeMaris. Currently, he is a faculty associate voice instructor in ASU’s popular music program. Residing in Chandler, Yñiguez operates a home recording studio and woodshop named Oakhaus. He enjoys collaborating with friends on various projects locally and internationally.
