Inside the Director’s Studio: featuring Scottsdale Public Art

A Visionary Circle exclusive event

Inside the Director's Studio is an exclusive, behind-the-scenes series for Visionary Circle patrons, where we peel back the curtain on the decision-making process of your favorite artistic offerings and introduce you to the people who make moving arts experiences possible at Scottsdale Arts. Join us on August 28th for an intimate conversation with Scottsdale Public Art Director Kim Boganey and Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA) Director and Chief Curator Jennifer McCabe for a lively discussion on the role of Scottsdale Public Art as the steward and storytellers of the Fine Art Collection of the City of Scottsdale and the brains behind world-renown art + light festival, Canal Convergence.

About the Event

Scottsdale Public Art is the steward of the Fine Art Collection of the City of Scottsdale, but in many ways, Scottsdale Public Art is also responsible for storytelling and bringing life to pieces that are otherwise permanent or from the past. How do you do this as a year-round branch of Scottsdale Arts?  What is the story behind Canal Convergence and why is it an important part of the culture of Scottsdale? How do you go about choosing artists and works for Canal Convergence

Please join us for an intimate conversation with Scottsdale Public Art Director Kim Boganey and Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA) Director and Chief Curator Jennifer McCabe, where we’ll peel back the curtain on the decision-making process of your favorite artistic offerings and introduce you to the people who make moving arts experiences possible at Scottsdale Arts.
