About the Event

Learn to play the ukulele in one day! Join Kehau Kuhi Leitz, Steve Conrad, Juliet Frew, and Dana Stephenson of the Ukebillies for a strum and sing session where you will learn chords, strums, and fingerpicking styles for simple songs. You will learn four to five songs—even if you have never played before. All ages and levels welcome, including complete beginners. Bring a ukulele and come play along.

About the instructor:

Kehau Kuhi Leitz has a degree in music education from the University of Central Florida, which led to five years of performing at Disney World and Universal Studios. Leitz lives in Phoenix and uses her talents from performing for kids, and now as a mom of four young children, to teach all ages—from toddler to adult—ways to have fun with learning music from around the world. She operates Kehau’s Music Lessons and teaches all ages throughout the Valley to play ukulele, guitar, piano, and drums.

Steve Conrad, Juliet Frew, and Dana Stephenson have all taught ukulele for large events such as Tiki Oasis in San Diego and Scottsdale. With Leitz, they form the Ukebillies, who have performed at the Rhythm Room with their all-ukulele band.
