Small Island Big Song – An Oceanic Songline | Film Screening
About the Event
This all-ages film takes the audience on a musical journey across and into the soul of the world’s great oceans, the Indian and Pacific. Created over three years by more than 100 artists from 16 island nations, from Madagascar to Hawai’i, from Taiwan to Aotearoa/New Zealand, it’s a playful but poignant musical plea from those on the frontline of the climate crisis.
Before the written word, songs held the knowledge of how to live sustainably on a small island. The fact is we are losing these songs when we need them most.
