(SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.) – Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts will present The Capitol Steps on Thanksgiving weekend, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25 and 26.

Tickets start at $49 and are available through www.ScottsdalePerformingArts.org or 480-499-TKTS (8587).

Known for their highly entertaining, sharp political satire set to popular music, The Capitol Steps have been a Washington, D.C., institution for more than 30 years. The irreverent troupe pokes fun at all sides of the issues, from left to right, with fresh, up-to-the-minute material inspired by the latest headlines, scandals and election results. Their tasteful, bipartisan lampooning leaves both sides of the political spectrum laughing in the aisles.

The Steps will perform songs and skits from their newest album, What to Expect When You’re Electing, which includes songs like “Shut Up and Vote for Me,” “Deleter of the Facts,” “Hello, Is It Mitt You’re Looking For?” and “Trump Acres.” As always, there may be special “guest appearances” from assorted celebrities and newsmakers, including Bill and Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Paul Ryan and Donald Trump, to name just a few.

“It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving in Scottsdale without our annual visit from The Capitol Steps,” noted Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts Director Ally Haynes-Hamblen. “There’s no one who knows the ins and outs of D.C. better than them, and no matter who you voted for, the Steps are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.”

The Capitol Steps began in 1981 as a staff Christmas party skit in the office of Senator Charles Percy. The rest is history. During the past three decades, the Steps, whose cast has included a number of former Capitol Hill staffers, have recorded more than 30 albums and performed for five U.S. presidents. The popular troupe has been featured on ABC, CBS, NBC and PBS, and can be heard on National Public Radio stations nationwide during their Politics Takes a Holidayradio specials.
