Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts’ mission is to present traditional and contemporary arts of interest to worldwide audiences; to create opportunities for audiences to have thought-provoking experiences with artists and speakers; and to foster creative expression, diversity in thought, and awareness of cultural heritage.

Our 2019–20 season was a great celebration of that mission and the 2020–21 is no different, even though so much has changed. Over the summer, the Center made major shifts in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and social unrest. We approached our unique obstacles as opportunity, embraced new virtual technology, committed to ongoing evaluation of our institutional practices regarding equity and inclusion, and remained unwavering in our commitment to help move our community forward. During the pandemic closure of our campus, we were also hard at work designing new guidelines and protocol with safety and comfort as foremost priorities.

We are grateful to return our campus fall 2020 with our full staff intact to present a mix of live and livestreaming performances throughout the 2020–21 season. We take pride in serving artists and audiences and remain flexible to changing needs. We believe to rebuild, reimagine, and unify our community in these times we must lift up creative thinkers, visionary voices to challenge and inspire us.
