Press Release

April 6, 2020

Back in March, Scottsdale Arts made the decision to cancel the in-person 2020 Scottsdale Arts Festival out of an abundance of caution, given rising concerns around COVID-19.

Upon making this decision, we carefully weighed a whole range of responsibilities: to our artists, who have traveled from across the country at their own expense to share their gift with us; to our staff and volunteers, who are on the front lines every day, producing arts experiences that delight and inspire us; and to our community, whose safety and well-being are our primary concern. It is with people’s well-being in mind that this difficult decision was made.

We worked diligently in house and with our participating artists to create a virtual Scottsdale Arts Festival. Anyone, anywhere, can visit the Festival virtually! While this new initiative is free, a donation via a virtual ticket would be greatly appreciated as it will sustain Scottsdale Arts and its four branches—Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA), Scottdale Public Art, and Scottsdale Arts Learning & Innovation—in all that we do for our community.

In a community renowned for its devotion to the arts, Scottsdale has one arts festival that rises above them all—now offered virtually! This annual weekend-long celebration of creativity is online through April 30, 2020. Known for its high-quality art, the Scottsdale Arts Festival showcases more than 180 jury-selected artists from throughout the United States and abroad. Art pieces include paintings, sculptures, glass, ceramics, jewelry, photography, and other media.

If you do purchase a virtual ticket, you’ll automatically be entered to win a Festival goodie bag!

You can access the virtual Festival through April 30 at ScottsdaleArtsFestival.org.
