This show will feature dream synth-pop artist Faun Flora and the desert psych-rock band Treasurefruit.

Faun Flora: noon to 1:30 p.m.

Faun Flora is an upcoming dream synth-pop artist based in Phoenix. Since officially stepping onto the scene in 2014, she has continued to refine her songwriting and craft her own recognizable identity with the release of multiple singles online. Through vividly expressive vocals and the emotionally powerful imagery in her lyricism, Faun Flora’s inspired and fresh artistic perspective is heard on the airy 2017 single “Trilogy.”

After releasing her single “’95” in 2018, she began introducing more electronic atmospheres with synthesizers. In A Daze, By My Lonesome is Faun Flora’s debut EP, which enjoyed a celebrated release at the world-renowned Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix. The five-track EP expresses Faun Flora’s inner dialogues while living away from home and struggling with the new territories of depression and anxiety. The EP’s hit single, “Drive,” achieved international attention, scoring spots on radio stations. Faun Flora is ramping up her footprint with an upcoming series of new singles that permeate the dream-pop space with a synth-heavy full band sound and painfully relatable storytelling.

Treasurefruit: 2:30 to 4 p.m.

Desert psych-rock band Treasurefruit, fronted by singer-songwriter Anamieke Quinn, has been a staple of the Phoenix music scene since 2011. The “desert noir” pioneers in Treasurefruit elegantly weave psychedelic rock, western roots, and soulful jazz-pop into the moonlit dreamscapes of the great Southwest.

Treasurefruit’s debut album from late 2015 was recorded on reel-to-reel tape and mixed by hand on a vintage desk. Poisonous Dwellers of the Desert offers fresh modern rock informed by classic elements from Django to Hank to Hendrix. Since its release, the ensemble has expanded to include smooth horns and doo-wop vocals. Treasurefruit is currently working on its second album, More Ferocious, Less Hipster, and has launched a double-A-side single as a taste of what’s to come. Double Denim (available for pre-order now) features the fresh and future sound of Treasurefruit in “Pretty Baby” and “Lean A Little Closer” with hard and saxy motorcycle-rock sensibilities.

Treasurefruit was included on the lineup at the 2017 McDowell Mountain Music Festival with Lettuce, Gov’t Mule, and The Shins, as well as the official Lost Lake Festival after-party with Kongos. Treasurefruit was also named one of the “Top Ten Female-Fronted Bands in Phoenix” by Phoenix New Times, and singer/songwriter Quinn was the 2016 recipient of the annual Songbird Award by culture blog Yab Yum Music and Arts.
