About the Event
Marc Broussard’s incomparable style—an infectious mix of soul, rock, blues, R&B, and funk-pop channeled into contemporary terms and coupled with his powerful vocals—has garnered worldwide praise from critics and fans alike. In 2024, Broussard is celebrating twenty years since the release of his major label debut, Carencro, with an anniversary tour, playing the album front to back and featuring some fan-favorite cover songs from his S.O.S. series along the way!
His father, Louisiana Hall of Fame guitarist Ted Broussard of The Boogie Kings, nurtured his musical gifts at an early age, and the vibrant Lafayette, Louisiana, music scene gave Broussard the opportunity to practice his craft consistently from childhood through early adulthood. After releasing a successful independent EP at age 20, Broussard signed a record deal with Island Records and made his major label debut with Carencro. The album featured the hit “Home,” which gained large success on radio and catapulted him into the national spotlight.
Over the next 10 years, Broussard released multiple albums with major labels but has recently returned to his independent roots with several acclaimed original and cover albums via his SOS (Save Our Soul) Foundation. In 2023, he teamed up with blues titan Joe Bonamassa to release S.O.S. 4: Blues For Your Soul, a covers record benefitting Bonamassa’s charitable foundation.
Joey Gutos
Joey Gutos’s soulful voice glows atop irresistible grooves and infectious guitar hooks made to make you move. Gutos’s 2020 debut single “Everything (That I Need)” paid homage to his home state of Arizona and was featured in a mini documentary of the Arizona Trail. Subsequent releases have showcased his musical diversity, from the bright and bouncy indie-electronica of “Bad News,” with its cleverly twisted lyrics, to the laid-back vibe of “Givin In,” featuring a Southwest edge from collaborator Cori Rios, to the funky pop sensibilities of “Where She At,” which has played on local radio and at the Indie Film Fest.
