Free Sunday concerts return to Scottsdale Civic Center with the best local music in a laid-back, family-friendly atmosphere, featuring unique artist vendors, cold drinks at the bar, and plenty of good company. Bring your pup and lawn chair for some fun in the sun! 

This show will feature boundary-pushing contemporary country singer Taylor Glasheen and the beautiful mix of Americana, bluegrass, and rock ‘n’ roll from Nolan McKelvey Band. 

Taylor Glasheen: noon to 1:30 p.m.  

Taylor Glasheen is a rising talent in the country music industry. Originally from Phoenix, Glasheen has established himself in modern country music with his alluring voice, which skillfully combines strength and sensitivity. Well known for his emotional lyrics and passionate performances, he has connected with audiences all over the nation.

With its roots firmly situated in the genre’s traditions, Glasheen’s music embraces the spirit of country music. But he adds aspects of modern country to his sound, giving it a new and contemporary edge. His songs enable listeners to establish an intimate connection because they are a mirror of his own feelings and experiences. 

Glasheen stands out as an artist who is pushing boundaries and reinventing what it means to be a contemporary country singer in a genre that is always changing. He is positioned to leave a lasting impression on the country music business thanks to his unquestionable talent and everlasting devotion.  

Nolan McKelvey: 2:30 to 4 p.m. 

Over the course of his twenty-five-year career, Nolan McKelvey has covered nearly every corner of the country and traversed all roads of Americana. From the pavement of alt-country to the dusty trails of bluegrass and the gravel roads of classic country to the interstate highway of rock ‘n’roll, McKelvey has received critical acclaim along the way from magazines like No Depression, Country Standard Time, The Boston Phoenix, The Boston Globe, and Performer magazine, among many others. McKelvey has opened for musical luminaries like Greg Brown, Los Lobos, Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, Leon Russell, Gregory Alan Isakov, Son Volt, Josh Ritter, David Grisman, and many more. He performed in several bands in Boston and was dubbed “central to the [Boston] roots-rock revival” by WBUR radio. 

Since returning to Arizona, McKelvey was named “Best Musician” by the readers of the Arizona Daily Sun and has been dubbed “one of the best songwriters in the southwest.” (FlagLive). McKelvey’s studio credits include recording with Grammy®-winner Levon Helm (The Band), Dana Colley and Billy Conway (Morphine), Paul Q. Koldrie (Pixies, PJ Harvey, Radiohead), and Jennifer Kimball (The Story, Wayfaring Strangers), among many others. McKelvey’s songs have appeared on more than twenty releases to date. He has performed at the Newport Folk Festival, Cambridge Folk Festival, New England Folk Festival, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Sedona Bluegrass Festival, Tweed River Music Festival, Roots on the River Festival, Tilted Earth Festival, Musical Instrument Museum World Music Festival, and Pickin’ in the Pines Bluegrass & Acoustic Music Festival. His music has aired on nationally syndicated radio shows like World Café, Bluegrass Breakdown, and Car Talk. Nolan McKelvey Trio includes violin phenom Megyn Neff and longtime McKelvey collaborator Tim Hogan on bass.
