About the Event
Icons for more than 50 years, The Commodores have sold 75 million albums and racked up seven #1 hits. Among the greatest Motown and R&B/funk artists of all time, the legendary Commodores have influenced performers both young and old and in all genres with classic songs like “Machine Gun,” “Sail On,” and “Brick House.” Now they continue to blaze trails all over the world and thrill audiences with their Greatest Hits Tour – Live!
The Commodores formed in 1968 while all the members were in college at Tuskegee Institute. After being discovered by Berry Gordy, they proved themselves as artists, scoring five #1 albums, twenty Top 10 singles, and fifteen Top 10 albums. The song “Nightshift” won the 1985 Grammy® for Best Vocal R&B Performance by a Duo/Group, and they were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2003. For five decades now, they have remained a force in the music industry. The Commodores aren’t just any group. They have staying power. Just like their hit song “Brick House,” the Commodores have created a foundation that just won’t budge.
