About the Event

The hilarious comedy team of Rick Compton and Betsy Bennett are off their walkers once again in Assisted Living: The Musical® — THE HOME…for the Holidays, an all-new, hysterical holiday sequel to the runaway hit about the nursing home and beyond. Christmas and retirement will never be the same!

It’s the holidays at Pelican Roost Wellness Center, the party school of retirement communities. From Nutcracker tutus and Peppermint Mocha Ensure® to golf cart parades and pharmaceutical-based activities, it’s all part of the Pelican Roost Annual Holiday Extravaganza! The 18 characters you first met in Assisted Living: The Musical® are back and, once again, portrayed by the show’s two actors in this vaudeville-esque musical revue, featuring numbers like “Chili Today and Hot Tamale,” “The Peril of the Bells,” and “Wrapper’s Delight.”

Compton & Bennett

Rick Compton and Betsy Bennett are authors Compton & Bennett. They have been writing and performing original shows since 1995, plowing the fertile field of political and social satire in and around their home base of Naples, Florida.

Bennett is a lifelong theatre denizen, starting professionally in summer stock when she was 15. She earned a theatre degree from Albion College and followed that with an internship at Playwrights Horizons in New York City. Bennett has appeared in more than 100 productions and is a member of The Dramatists Guild.

Compton leads the creative life since escaping from the corporate world in 1988. He founded Via Colori®, a small chain of annual street painting festivals, toured Japan as keyboardist for The Platters, and authored The Essential Street Painter (Simon & Schuster), a children’s activity book. He has served as musical director and played in pit orchestras in dozens of shows. Compton holds several Florida Magazine Association Charlies for freelance magazine articles and is a member of The Dramatists Guild.
