About the Event

Instructor Steve Conrad loves having fun on the ukelele and teaching others. In addition to teaching ukulele around the United States, including free classes at Bookmans and Tiki Oasis Arizona, he has been teaching swing dancing around the world for more than 26 years. He was recently featured on ABC’s The Bachelorette, HGTV’s House Hunters, and NBC’s Little Big Shots: Forever Young, as well as in numerous music videos and USA Today.  

The Ukabillies are a ukulele band that performs for Arizona audiences. Most notably the group played at the Rhythm Room for an Elvis Presley birthday celebration, where they were joined by a member of Postmodern Jukebox for a rendition of “Hound Dog.” Most of the members of the band will be on stage to take people through beginning lessons on the ukulele for this strum-and-sing-along ahead of the Jake Shimabukuro performance.
