about this event

AZ63 performs on a mix of string and percussion instruments from Burkina Faso, the African Diaspora, and beyond. The trio’s music encompasses a wide variety of styles, from ancient Bambara songs to original compositions to improvisations inspired the various musical backgrounds of each member. Entertaining audiences is only part of AZ63’s artistic mission: Arouna, Zaza, and Sonja love to share the stories and histories of their instruments and music. Join AZ63 for an afternoon that’s sure to delight the ears and stimulate the mind!

Classical Lounge Series Curated by MusicaNova:

Join us for a series of cool classical concerts showcasing the work of wonderful Arizona classical musicians in a casual, informal setting. Repertoire will be light and lively, but not afraid to explore new works or lesser-known composers. With a goal to showcasing classical artists of color, the Classical Lounge curated by MusicaNova will be a great place to get your classical “fix” this fall. These concerts will feature socially distant seating protocols and small-music ensembles to keep our artists and patrons safe.

This event now offers pod seating. Pod seating enables patrons to purchase as a group while maintaining our social–distancing protocols at the event. One pod accommodates up to four (4) people. Adirondack pods accommodate up to two (2) people. Gates open 30 minutes before the performance start time.

No outside food and drink (except for water) or furry friends allowed at Live & Local performances. Blankets or low–seated lawn chairs are recommended. This is a no smoking event. Face masks are required, and wristbands (received at check-in) are required for entry.
